In 2007, Mr. Derek Bevan, founder and president of the company, celebrates his 50th year trading in scrap. The business began in October 1957 trading from a small rented workshop. By 1969 it had become a publicly quoted company and in 1987 was bought back by the Bevan family to create the company as it exists today.

The company operates from its own 20 acre site close to Birmingham in the UK, with offices in Melbourne, Australia and Riga, Latvia.

The holding company Flexdart Ltd. has three main trading divisions; Beaver Metals, Metallic Extractors and Beaver Metals London, which has an annual turnover of USD 65 million, trading worldwide and employing 70 people engaged in all aspects of metal reclamation.

Trading Divisions:

• Beaver Metals - Non-ferrous and ferrous scrap
• Metallic Extractors - Reclamation of non-ferrous drosses and residues
• Beaver Metals London - Tin plate, electrical steels, seconds and reusables of ferrous and non-ferrous sheets, bars, tubes etc.
